Our company has completed 92 years of service to its members and is steadily marching towards its centenary year.It was founded on 11th shares. It has been registered under the Companies Act of 1913 and the management is vested in the Board of Directors.

Institutions of this kind are peculiar to our State of Tamilnadu and particularly to Chennai, which has several such institutions. This institution was started with the object of helping people, particularly persons of limited incomes to accumulate their savings, to avail loans on very reasonable rates of interest and to discharge them by easy and regular payments.

We take great pleasure in mentioning the role played by the chief founders of this institution. They were the late Thiru M.Appadurai Pillai and late Thiru A.S.Ratnavelu Mudaliar, who were both men of integrity, character, foresight and were inspired with humanitarian views and an ardent desire to help mankind.

Under the management of late Thiru M.Appadurai Pillai,with the co operation of Thiru Gopathi Narayanaswamy Chetty, Dewan Bahadur N.Krishnaswamy Reddy, Thiru A.S.Ratnavelu Mudaliar and other directors, this institution soon began to earn a name in the locality and even beyond it, for its reliability, efficiency, abiding faith and confidence reposed in it by its members.

Ever since incorporation, the Nidhi has been faithfully developing its fund only in the shape of secured credit to its members either on the security of gold ornaments or residential house properties or deposits of the member with the Fund. In respect of Property Loans, the fund confines itself to the properties situated within the original civil jurisdiction of the High Court of Chennai viz within the city limits of Chennai.

The sound working practices of the Fund have ensured a steady and healthy growth in its membership over the years indicating a high level of confidence in the Fund. The deposits of the fund has grown from Rs.13,000 in the year 1922-23 to a deposit level of the tune of Rs.74 crores with total customer base of 77,000 as on 31.3.2018, which is no mean achievement.
