The Purasawakum Permanent Fund Limited was started 92 years ago on 11th September 1922 in the premises bearing door No.173 Vellala Street, Purasawalkam, Chennai-84. The institution was designed from its very inception with the most laudable object of instilling the spirit of thrift and self help in the minds of its constituents, majority of whom belong to the middle income group. The institution therefore can be said to be one of the few companies that promoted safe and thrifty accumulations of small savings of the people. The prime object of this Company has been to provide cheap credit to all and to wean the people from the clutches of the money lenders and pawn brokers.
